Common Scents is the brainchild of Candy Shores, born out of the desire to supply friends and family with high quality well-scented candles for all special occasions. Humble undertakings began in the kitchen of the Country Cottage B&B. She then quickly outgrew this facility necessitating the purchase of a 120-year old building in Historic Downtown Calvert where she presently runs her establishment. There she features her candles, quality antiques, decorating ideas in the Shabby Chic style and great gift items. Ideas abound as you browse through the shop and notice current trends in decorating.

Candy, being a newcomer to Calvert, is transplanted from the Fort Worth area. She ran a successful B&B here in Calvert for five years before becoming interested in making her fortune as a candle entrepreneur of Central Texas. Making the best-quality most highly-scented candles for the lowest possible price is her goal. Keeping her customers happy is a challenge as news of her candles spreads far and wide. Several people are discovering that they can benefit for her hard work by wholesaling her products for resale.

Candy stocks as many as 50 different varieties of candles in two different sizes. The smaller size is an 8-ounce candle, which burns for approximately 35-40 hours and sells for $8.00 plus tax. The larger size is 16-ounces, burns approximately 90 hours, and sells for $13.00 plus tax. These candles make wonderful gifts for all occasions and Candy extends a warm welcome to all interested parties who might want to look her up. See the listing below of available candle scents.
